ADHD stands for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. In simple terms, it is a condition that affects a person’s ability to focus and control impulsive behaviors, and may also involve hyperactivity. There are many misconceptions about ADHD, but it is a legitimate neurodevelopmental disorder that affects the brain’s ability to focus, organize, and control impulses. Additionally, ADHD may present differently in men and women, especially those who have not been diagnosed until later in life.
